Moroccan Weather Enthusiast Debuts as TV5 Monde Meteorologist

Farid El Mokkadem is now presenting the weather on TV5 Monde. A source of pride for the Moroccan who sees his dream of appearing on television become a reality.
Farid from Météo-Mons posted the weather forecasts for the region on his Facebook page, followed by more than 200,000 people for more than six years. "After 6 years of hard work, this is my first opportunity on a major channel before another surprise in a few days. Many people follow me, now 26 million viewers will see my frog face starting August 15. Not afraid, we’ll handle it even if I admit I was scared the first time," he had announced.
Farid made his first appearance on screen. "So that was my first on TV5 monde and it went well despite a bit of stress but that’s normal. With the pressure down, I had a nice nap and I’m back for your full evening bulletin! I wanted to sincerely thank you for your messages of encouragement following my promotion. There were more than 10,000 and I couldn’t read them all, but I’ll try to do that tonight. In any case, I hope you enjoyed my first and you were adorable."
The Montois does not forget his origins. Farid is overwhelmed with emotion. "I think I’ll shed a little tear thinking of my dad’s family in Morocco who will see me on TV, maybe also of my mom, whom I lost in 1998, who will be with me for this first in the big pool."
