Moroccan-Ukrainian teenager Adam Guram named among Guardian’s 60 top young talents
At 17, Adam Guram has been named to The Guardian’s “Next Generation 2026” selection. The Hajduk Split player, who holds Moroccan and Ukrainian citizenship, joins 60 talents born in 2009 selected by the British newspaper.

Adam Guram features in the selection published on October 6 by The Guardian and picked up by the Brazilian press. He is presented there under the Ukrainian colors, with Hajduk Split listed as his club.

His connection to Morocco is well established, however. On the player’s official profile, Hajduk Split lists both of his nationalities. He was born on March 13, 2009, in Mariupol. The Croatian club uses the spelling Adam Huram, while several international publications refer to him as Guram.
The young player is already part of the first-team squad. He wears number 26 and, according to statistics published by his club, has made twenty appearances for Hajduk, starting four of them, and scored two goals and provided three assists. The figures point to a career still taking shape: he is getting playing time, but has made more substitute appearances than starts.
An international career with Ukraine
His dual nationality should not be confused with his international career. On September 22, Hajduk announced that he had been called up to Ukraine’s U19 team, alongside his teammate Illia Kutia. At 17, Guram has therefore been called up to an age group above his own.
The Guardian’s list also highlights Abdellah Ouazane, the Ajax player who represents Morocco. The two teenagers share a birth year and this media recognition, but are following different international paths.

For Ouazane, the distinction comes after his first call-up to the Atlas Lions, announced in September. The player was looking for his name among the midfielders before finding it in the forwards category.
Guram, meanwhile, is continuing to develop in the Croatian league. His Hajduk profile lists him as a forward and gives him an average of twenty-five minutes of playing time per appearance.
