Moroccan Truckers Threaten Nationwide Strike Over Soaring Fuel Costs

To protest against the rise in fuel prices at the pump, Moroccan transporters threaten to observe a general strike from November 21.
In a statement signed by 19 trade union organizations in the sector, these professionals have warned about the difficult situation they are going through due to the continuous rise in fuel prices. According to them, several transporters are no longer able to continue their work normally, reports Al Massae.
These unions point in particular to the insufficient direct support allocated by the government to these players. "The amounts previously granted were not enough to offset the sharp rise that prices have experienced at the service stations." In addition, a large number of them have not received any government support payments, and some have not received any payments so far, not to mention the other problems that have accompanied the registration and support process, they reported.
To remedy this, the transporters have called for structural and effective measures. In the meantime, they threaten to trigger a general strike from November 21 next. According to the explanations, the situation is only getting worse day by day. This calls, according to them, for the government to act accordingly, to save this strategic sector and revitalize it.
