Moroccan Truckers Seek Solutions to Visa and Transport Permit Issues

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics met on Wednesday with Moroccan truckers to discuss the problems facing the sector and hampering the smooth running of activities.
This meeting follows the dialogue initiated by the ministry with the heads of the road transport sector in Morocco, in order to address the problems they are facing, says a statement from the department.
Among the topics on the table, the difficulties encountered by the sector, particularly those related to the lack of bilateral authorizations for international road transport (TIR) and those related to the issuance of visas for the benefit of drivers.
At the end of the discussions, the participants decided to continue the exchanges, in order to find solutions to the various issues raised, taking into account the aspirations of the professionals, so that this sector remains in line with the various economic and social developments experienced by the Kingdom, the statement said.
To this end, a next meeting is scheduled for January in order to put in place a priority action plan aimed at promoting international road freight transport.
