Moroccan Travelers Protest Inefficient Passport Stamping at Airports

Moroccan activists have denounced the random stamping of passports at the country’s airports, calling for a "rationalization" of passport pages.
Moroccans who are used to traveling abroad have deplored this situation observed in Moroccan airports where "entry and exit stamps, and even visas, are placed on any page and in a random manner, while in European countries, these stamps are placed on a single page of the passport, in an appropriate space, in order not to waste the other pages".
A Moroccan activist, quoted by Hespress, notes that this random stamping of passports at Moroccan airports creates prejudice to Moroccan travelers. "This pushes us, as travelers, to request a new passport because the pages of the old one are exhausted," said the activist, who called on the Ministry of the Interior to find a solution to this problem.
Abdelkarim Chafai, vice-president of the Moroccan Federation for Consumer Protection, has invited the department led by Abdelouafi Laftit to instruct the competent services and authorities to "respect an organized paper space, not exceeding one page, to stamp entries, exits and visas". Failing that, Chafai proposes "to add several pages to the Moroccan passport due to the impact of random stamping".
Bouazza Kharrati, president of the National Federation for Consumer Protection, believes that the digitization of passport stamps, as is the case in Western countries, "could be a solution" to this problem. Moroccan activists have also called for extending the validity of the Moroccan passport from five to ten years.
