Moroccan Travel Agencies Protest Border Closures, Demand Government Aid Amid Pandemic

Excluded from the aid measures granted to the tourism sector by the government, travel professionals, hard hit by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, have once again expressed their distress, denouncing the discrimination of the authorities.
Thus, these owners of travel agencies observed a new sit-in this Wednesday in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism, to express their anger and demand the immediate reopening of air borders from the government.
In its demands, the National Association of Travel Agencies of Morocco (ANAVM) also asks the authorities to include their sub-sector in the emergency plan, by granting tax amnesty and CNSS contributions as well as the cancellation of legal proceedings against indebted agencies.
Other grievances are also among the demands of the ANAVM, in particular the fight against the informal sector or the support and training of travel agency staff, etc.
