Moroccan Transport Association Reverses 20% Price Hike Amid Fuel Crisis

The decision of the Moroccan Association of Transport and Logistics (AMTL) to increase transport prices by 20% has been reported. Carriers are invited to apply the initial prices.
In a press release, the association asked its members to cancel the increase decided following the surge in diesel prices.
To justify this withdrawal, the AMTL stressed that it has "contacted the government to find an optimal solution to the problems encountered by carriers."
Following the surge in diesel prices exceeding the previously subscribed ceiling of 10dh/l, the association had announced on Monday an increase of 20% in transport rates.
The increase in rates was therefore intended to offset the rise in diesel prices, it had pointed out, specifying that transport rates have been stagnant since 2015, the year of the end of fuel subsidy.
