Moroccan Terror Suspect Arrested in Spain Agrees to Extradition

Following the arrest in Santa Coloma de Gramanet of a jihadist, who fled Morocco to Spain after the dismantling of a terrorist cell in Tangier, the latter has requested his extradition to Morocco.
A 30-year-old Moroccan national, involved in a terrorist cell and drug trafficking, was arrested last Tuesday by the Spanish authorities in Santa Coloma de Gramanet (Barcelona), following an international arrest warrant issued by Morocco. He has just communicated to the Spanish judge his agreement to be extradited to the kingdom.
The alleged terrorist was able to be arrested thanks to the exchange of information between the Moroccan security services and their Spanish counterparts. The individual was finally located in Santa Coloma de Gramanet, and his arrest took place on Tuesday, June 4.
Following the dismantling of a terrorist cell in Morocco of which he was a part, the defendant left Moroccan territory and headed to Spain where he illegally entered. With a history related to terrorism, the individual would be involved in offenses of "membership in a terrorist organization" and drug trafficking.
