Moroccan Teacher Faces Trial for Facebook Post Calling for Protests

The Attorney General at the Court of First Instance in Driouch, near Al Hoceima, has decided to prosecute a contract teacher on provisional release. She is accused of inciting a riot through a post on her Facebook account.
The planning officer within the National Coordination of Contract Teachers had been questioned last May by the judicial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie, following a call to demonstrate posted on the social network.
She will be tried on charges of incitement to commit an offense through an electronic medium and participation in the organization of an unauthorized demonstration, notes Akhbarona.
The media also adds that the teacher’s trial will take place on October 6 at the criminal chamber of the Court of First Instance in Driouch.
