Moroccan Surgeon's Trial Resumes: Human Trafficking and Financial Crimes Alleged

The trial of Dr Hassan Tazi, owner of the Chifaa clinic, incarcerated for, among other things, human trafficking and abuse of weakness, before the chamber of financial crimes of the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, will resume on May 25 in the presence of the civil parties.

During the second hearing of the trial of Dr. Hassan Tazi before the chamber of financial crimes of the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, the defense of the plastic surgeon made several requests. It asked that "sensitive" documents, including audio recordings of telephone communications incriminating the doctor and his co-accused, be "attached to the file," reports the daily Assabah. This request received the approval of the court, as well as the representative of the public prosecutor’s office.

The defense of Dr. Hassan Tazi also requested the summoning of several declarants, including some employees of the surgeon’s clinic, including the financial director. They had already been questioned by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) and the investigating judge. Admissible, this request will be examined later.
