Moroccan Student Sara Daif Takes Second Place in Arab Reading Challenge

The young Moroccan Sara Daif was crowned runner-up in the Arab Reading Challenge, the Ministry of National Education announced in a press release.
Sara Daif is a second-year high school student in physical sciences at the qualifying high school Ibn Soulaiman Arroudani (Souss-Massa Academy). As part of this competition, she finished second behind Abdallah Abou Khalaf (Jordan).
During the awards ceremony, the participants paid tribute to Khalid Labkiri, president of the Regional Center for Documentation, Animation and Educational Production at the AREF of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab. He supervised the participants from this region in the competition eliminations.
For the 2020 edition, Morocco stood out with a strong participation of candidates, all streams combined. From 253,789 students in 2015, they increased to 1,584,825 in the last edition, of which 83,018 completed the reading and summary of 50 books each.
The Arab Reading Challenge is a cultural and educational project led by the United Arab Emirates since 2015, which aims to promote reading among children and young people. It is strongly supported by Morocco, which won the title of champion in 2018, the Ministry of National Education recalls.
