Moroccan Striker En-Nesyri Declines Brighton Move, Stays with Leganés

Youssef En-Nesyri and Leganés have ended negotiations with the English club Brighton. The Moroccan player lets go and remains in the Spanish club’s squad, with a significant improvement in his salary situation.
While some of his teammates on the Moroccan national team are struggling to confirm their talents and convince potential clubs to recruit them in their squad after the 2019 CAN, Youssef En-Nesyri is being courted by several clubs. The most recent, Brighton of the English Premier League, is determined to secure the player’s services. Rather interested in Spanish football, the Moroccan international deemed this agreement inappropriate and convinced his club Leganés not to transfer him.
Having confessed to his former club, Leganés, his desire to stay, he officially declined the dazzling offer of 20 million euros from the English. Even if En-Nesyri’s adventure with Brighton ends, it is not excluded that other clubs in La Liga, Serie A or the Bundesliga may succeed in swaying the Atlas Lion.
Pending a next offer as juicy as that of Brighton, Leganés is seeking to extend the Moroccan player’s contract, which runs until 2023, with a salary increase. The club did not fail to increase the player’s release clause, which is now set at 20 million euros.
Not a starter during his club’s trip to France for the match against Amiens FC, Youssef En-Nesyri is expected on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, for training, to participate in the friendly match against Albacete (D2) on Saturday, August 10.
