Moroccan Startup Culture Emerges as Economic Force, CNN Reports

The American channel CNN believes that the culture of Moroccan startups is an "emerging economic force". They have made notable progress both in Morocco and abroad.
During the broadcast of its Inside Africa program, CNN devoted a report to the culture of Moroccan startups. The American channel presents Casablanca as a "commercial power" and a "place where some of the world’s largest companies have settled". A city where startups are developing.
CNN International has highlighted the successes of Moroccan startups created by local entrepreneurs as well as those who have developed their activities from abroad. The channel cites the example of Mehdi Alaoui. "Our goal is to see our country in the future as a startup nation," said the entrepreneur. This vision is in perfect harmony with that of Morocco.
In 2020, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Marrakech had collaborated with the global innovation platform Plug and Play Tech Center to create Africa’s first "Plug and Play" office. This office has state-of-the-art facilities where entrepreneurs and startups can immediately get to work, without any prior setup. The OCP group is the sponsor.
For its part, the Moroccan government is supporting the development of the startup culture so that the supply can meet the demand. In this sense, it has been involved in the launch of Morocco’s fourth technopark. The Agadir Technopark will cover a total area of 10,000 m², with a capacity to accommodate 80 companies. The center will also have conference rooms. Morocco is also working to help young entrepreneurs in the kingdom by offering them affordable rents for ready-to-use premises, support and training.
