Moroccan Star Ziyech Trains with Former Teammate Facing Extradition

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech visited Quincy Promes in Dubai. A meeting that raises questions, as the former Spartak Moscow player must answer for his actions before the Dutch justice system.
The two former teammates shared photos of their training sessions on social media, displaying an intact complicity despite Promes’ legal troubles.
Because the former Dutch international, who also played for FC Twente, FC Seville and, of course, Spartak Moscow, is in a rather delicate situation. He is awaiting a decision on an extradition request made by the Netherlands. Sentenced to a total of seven and a half years in prison for an assault and for his involvement in a drug trafficking case, he has appealed and hopes to avoid incarceration. Arrested in Dubai at the beginning of the year after a hit-and-run, he was released in May, with the prohibition to leave the territory of the United Arab Emirates.
Despite a troubled context, Ziyech openly displays his support for his friend. Other players have also visited Promes, who maintains a certain aura in the world of football. It must be said that, despite his off-field antics, Promes remains an appreciated figure in Russia, particularly at Spartak. The Spartak Transfers Telegram channel even revealed that the 32-year-old player is considering a return to the Moscow club.
Such a return to Spartak would be a slap in the face for the Dutch authorities, whose extradition request seems to be at a standstill. Promes, who currently plays for Dubai United, in the Emirati second division, could even train with Spartak during their next training camp in Dubai, scheduled for the beginning of next year.
