Moroccan Star Ziyech Ranks Second in European Player Performance, Behind Only Messi

Hakim Ziyech is the 2nd best player in Europe after Messi. This is the verdict pronounced by the CIES Football Observatory, which was based on Instat sports data.
The Moroccan player is now in the top 10 of players from the 35 European leagues. Ranked just behind the immovable Lionel Messi (401 points), Hakim Ziyech has 377 points. According to Hespress, this ranking even places him in the position of 2nd best player in the world.
Very prolific, a passer but also a scorer, Hakim Ziyech delights his teammates at Ajax Amsterdam with no less than 15 assists in 20 games this season, to which must be added 7 goals, including gems against Valencia and Chelsea in the Champions League, specifies the same media.
For the same source, Hakim Ziyech would be taking his revenge with this ranking for having been kept away from the Ballon d’Or competition, despite his good performances during the 2018/2019 season. With 21 goals to his name last season and 24 assists in 49 games and a crazy epic with Ajax in the Champions League, Hakim Ziyech was not among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or, with the exception of four of his teammates.
With his latest Ballon d’Or title, Lionel Messi is galloping, far ahead of his everyday rival, Christiano Ronaldo, ranked 25th. In fifth place is the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé (366 points).
Last week, Hakim Ziyech had already distinguished himself by winning the title of best offensive midfielder in the world with 67% of the votes (8950), ahead of formidable opponents such as the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne (3400 votes) and the Argentine Paolo Dybala (722 votes).
