Moroccan Star Harit Addresses National Team Snub and Club Performance

Invited to the "Canal football club" show on Canal+, Amine Harit, without mincing his words, looked back on certain aspects of his professional career. He especially explained the reasons why he was not called up by Vahid Halilhodzic for the CAN 2021 qualifiers against Mauritania on November 15 and Burundi on November 19.
The controversy has flared up since the player’s non-selection was made public. Yet the player is more than ever in shape with his German club, Schalke 04.
During his intervention on "Canal football club" (CFC), on November 10, the young Moroccan international explained that he had called the coach to find out the reasons for his non-selection.
"He just told me that there were things he didn’t appreciate from my club and myself. I had a few aches, and he said he didn’t appreciate my performances, that, again, I can understand and accept," he said before adding that he certainly wasn’t good enough and that he had to work harder to deserve his place in the national team.
Amine Harit also looked back on his serious road accident, which occurred just after the World Cup, in the summer of 2018.
Prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter, he will be released after posting a bail of 10,000 dirhams. "It’s something that will stay in my head until my last day," he confided.
Indeed, this accident resulted in the death of a 28-year-old pedestrian. And the player had been sentenced to four months in prison with probation and a fine of 780 euros by a Marrakech court. "It was hard. And I put myself in the place of the family who lived through this tragedy." He says he has learned a lot from this tragedy and appreciates the chance he has to be there.
After this accident and his experience with the justice system, Amine Harit’s career has wavered a lot. There was the scandal but also his poor performance last season.
