Moroccan Star Amine Adli Returns from Injury in Bundesliga Clash

After several months of absence due to injury, the Moroccan winger of Bayer Leverkusen, Amine Adli, made his return to the field against Bayern Munich (0-0) in the Bundesliga. Good news for his club, but also for the Moroccan national team.

The Moroccan international came on in the 85th minute, replacing Nigerian Nathan Tella, thus marking his return to the pitch after about four months of absence. The 24-year-old winger had sustained an injury (fractured left fibula) last October, during a match against Stade Brestois (1-1) in the Champions League, recalls Afrik Foot. The Atlas Lion had to undergo surgery and rehabilitation sessions to regain his form. He was called up for the last match against Wolfsburg, but remained on the bench, it is noted.

The return of Amine Adli (14 caps, one goal) is good news, both for his club and for the Atlas Lions who are preparing for the matches against Niger and Tanzania scheduled in March, as part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. If the young player gains in regularity and regains his best level, he could be on Walid Regragui’s list for the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Morocco 2025, even if the competition is tough in his position with the arrival of Brahim Diaz and Eliesse Ben Seghir.

Despite his long absence, the Moroccan international remains in the plans of coach Xabi Alonso. Bayer Leverkusen has just renewed its trust in him by extending his contract until June 2028.
