Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali Clinches Bronze in 3,000m Steeplechase at Doha World Championships

Moroccan athlete Soufiane Bakhali finished third in the 3,000m steeplechase event on Saturday, October 5, with a time of 8:03.76, thus offering Morocco the bronze medal, the first, at the Doha World Championships.
It’s done! Soufiane Bakhali, through dedication and hard work, distinguished himself at these Doha World Championships.
He clocked 8:03.76, placing third, in the 3,000m steeplechase event, behind Olympic medalist Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto, with 8:01.35, and Ethiopian Lamecha, who recorded 8:01.36.
Thanks to this performance by the Moroccan athlete, the Kingdom is now among the countries that have been honored at the Doha World Athletics Championships. It took until the 8th day of the competition for the first Moroccan medal to be won.
Two years earlier, the athlete who is making Morocco talk in Doha had won a silver medal in London.
