Moroccan Son Seeks Father's Exhumation After Hospital Mix-Up in Casablanca

Mohamed, the son of the deceased whose body was buried by another family, pleaded with the Court of First Instance of Aïn Sebâa (Casablanca) for its exhumation.

In a video widely shared on social media, Mohamed accused the managers of the Derb Ghallef clinic in Casablanca of preventing him from saying goodbye to his father, reports Alyaoum24. According to him, he saw him "enter the clinic alive, but not when he was dead".

For the son of the deceased, he was informed of his father’s death by the clinic. Arriving at the hospital, he learned of the confusion made by the medical staff: "I ran to the clinic to attend the washing of his body as usual and take a last look. I wanted to see him and reassure myself about his body as he did when I was a baby," he said.

"The clinic informed me that a mistake had occurred and that the body of my father had been handed over to other people." Thinking he could catch up with the funeral with the family who had recovered his father’s body, he arrived late. The family concerned just showed him the grave in which his father’s body was now resting.

He hopes to receive the court’s response this week pending the opening of an investigation as promised by the authorities of the ministry to determine the responsibilities.
