Moroccan Soccer Stars Stranded in Gulf as Ramadan Approaches

Moroccan internationals in the Gulf are eagerly awaiting authorization from the authorities of their country to return to Morocco to spend the month of Ramadan there.
All these 8 Moroccan players in the Gulf, after obtaining authorization from the Saudi authorities, are still stuck there due to the suspension of air links for more than a month because of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the daily Assabah, no solution has yet been found by the Moroccan players who have contacted the Moroccan embassy in Saudi Arabia. Backed into a corner, these players have proposed to charter a private plane to travel to Morocco with other compatriots stranded there.
Due to health risks, the Moroccan authorities are in no hurry to authorize their return home, the same source indicates. To date, the only one who has managed to leave Saudi Arabia is the Al Nassr player, Nordin Amrabat. He finally found a flight to Paris, before reaching Amsterdam by taxi.
To this group of players, add the Atlas Lions playing in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. They are experiencing the same fate due to the shutdown of traffic to and from Doha and Abu Dhabi. These are El Mehdi Berrahma (Club Qatar), Ahmed Hmoudan (Al Khour Al Qatari), Youssef El Kaddioui (Al Kharaitiyat), Mourad Batna (Al Jazeera Al Imarati) and Zakaria Al Isameili (Anaft Al Iraqi). The latter is currently in the Aspire medical academy in Qatar where he is recovering from an injury.
