Moroccan Soccer Star Faces Racism Allegations After On-Field Altercation

A fight broke out between Moroccan international Selim Amallah and Senegalese international Abdoulaye Seck during the match between Standard and Antwerp (3-2) last Sunday. Racist remarks would be at the origin of this altercation.
The fight broke out at the entrance to the locker rooms before the referee blew the half-time whistle. In the video circulated on the web, we see the Moroccan international Selim Amallah discussing with Bjorn Engels. Furious, the Senegalese international Abdoulaye Seck provokes a fight. He is given a red card. According to the match delegate, the cause of this altercation would be racist insults uttered by Selim towards the Antwerp player.
The Standard player returns to the incident. "I was talking to the referee as I was going back to the hallway. [...] Seck came to interfere. So I told him to shut his mouth, which he didn’t like..." recounts the Moroccan midfielder, before reacting to the accusations of racist remarks towards the Senegalese. "There are enough different skin colors in my team that I don’t have to justify myself on that," he says.
