Moroccan Soccer Star Donates $10,000 to National COVID-19 Relief Fund

Mobilization and solidarity around the fight against coronavirus is sparing no sector of Moroccan society. Walid Azaro has just joined the list of contributors by offering 100,000 dirhams to the covid-19 fund.
Walid Azaro has decided to follow in the footsteps of Abderrazak Hamdallah, Abdeslam Ouaddou and Mohcine Metouali, by digging into his pocket to help in the fight against coronavirus. On his Instagram account, the Moroccan player posted a photo of his 100,000 dirham transaction, accompanied by a message of support for families in need.
"I’m not used to sharing images like this of charitable actions I’ve taken in the past, believing that one must act for the good of others in all discretion. But this time, I wanted to share this image of aid to families, wishing for the end of this ordeal," wrote the Atlas Lion playing for Ettifaq FC.
He noted that with this gesture, he "participates in the challenge of artists and celebrities who have decided to carry out charitable actions in order to encourage people to do the same".
