Moroccan Soccer Star Detained: Wydad Goalkeeper Faces Rape Allegations

The goalkeeper of the Wydad of Casablanca, on loan to the Chabab de Mohammedia club, was arrested on Thursday, February 27, for his alleged involvement in the rape of a 20-year-old girl.
A complaint had been filed by the victim against Badreddine Benachour, supported by a medical certificate, confirming the act of sexual abuse and physical assault, according to Agadir24.
The young footballer was placed in pre-trial detention at the Oukacha prison in Casablanca, pending his appearance before the Public Prosecutor.
Born in 1994 in Casablanca, Benachour, who plays as a goalkeeper for Wydad of Casablanca, was trained at the Mohammed VI Academy, before participating with the national Olympic team in the Toulon tournament in 2015.
