Moroccan Soccer Prodigy Hachim Mastour: From AC Milan Starlet to Unfulfilled Promise

Hachim Mastour had everything to be one of the hopes of Moroccan football. But he will have defied all predictions with a career that started with fanfare before ending up in oblivion.
He was destined for a bright future. With a resume worthy of a great player, Hachim Mastour joined the professional group of AC Milan in 2014, even before making his debut with the Atlas Lions in June 2015. But before getting there, in 2013, he had signed a 10-year contract with Nike, which saw in him a huge potential, a well-mapped out career. The young Moroccan even participated in an advertisement alongside Brazilian striker Neymar Jr of Paris St Germain, recalls lactu24.com.
But this well-mapped out destiny only lasted a short time. Loaned for two years without a purchase option to Málaga CF in 2015, Mastour never managed to establish himself. His loan was terminated on July 8, 2016. On July 15 of the same year, he is loaned again, but this time to PEC Zwolle for a season with a purchase option set at 17 million euros. After 6 matches including 5 in the Eredivisie, he leaves free of any commitment, to join the Greek club PAS Lamía, on September 4, 2018. After playing six games, an injury forces him to be absent for several weeks. In March 2019, he terminated his contract with the Greek team.
His last public appearances were recorded in October 2019, in the colors of Reggina, an Italian football club playing in Serie C. Since then, the Atlas Lion has disappeared from the media, giving no more signs of life, apart from social networks.
