In a sport where age is extremely important and years are capital to be fructified, Mehdi Karnass has just been suspended for two long years, one of which is suspended. This is a decision of the Central Discipline and Fair Play Commission of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) that was announced on Thursday. It should be noted that the player is 29 years old.
Mehdi Karnass would have assaulted the referee in the locker room after this match, which ended in a 3-2 victory for OCS against Karnass’ team, the DHJ. The player is a midfielder. The subject of the accusation was assault and battery against the referee.
This suspension is accompanied by a fine of 10,000 dirhams. The Commission based its verdict on Article 86 of the disciplinary code.
Very recently, a referee was literally beaten up during the third division match between a Kenitra team and Ittihad Lalla Mimouna. This referee from the West League of the amateur championship, named Issam Zaidi, had to be taken to the hospital.
