Moroccan Soccer Legend Mbarek El Filali Dies at 66

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced the death of the former legend of Mouloudia club d’Oujda (MCO) and Moroccan international Mbarek El Filali. He was 66 years old.
It was in France near Bordeaux that the former player Mbarek El Filali died after a long illness. Born in 1955, he was for many years a member of the Moroccan national football team and holds a special place on the list of legends of the MCO, a club with which he won the national championship in 1975.
Known by the nickname "El Filali Sghir", Mbarek El Filali had a remarkable sports career, winning the Botola title with MCO in 1975 and finishing 3rd with the Moroccan national team at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Nigeria in 1980. That year, he was distinguished for his speed, combativeness and physical fitness.
