Moroccan Smugglers Charged in Fatal Migrant Boat Capsizing off Spanish Coast

In the case of a boat that capsized, resulting in the death of a woman and the disappearance of a minor, three alleged Moroccan smugglers have just been arrested. And they are accused, in addition to a crime against the rights of foreign citizens, of negligent homicide.
A boat carrying 24 migrants capsized last Wednesday near Castilnovo, in the Cadiz region. A woman died and a 16-year-old minor is still missing and being searched for by the Spanish rescue services. The other migrants from the boat have been returned to Morocco.
As part of this same case, three alleged Moroccan smugglers have been arrested and will be prosecuted for a crime against the rights of foreign citizens and negligent homicide, according to Europa Press. According to this agency: "The Civil Guard has arrested the three alleged authors of the capsizing of the boat, this Wednesday, resulting in the death of a woman traveling on the boat and the disappearance of a minor at sea."
These arrests were made after verifications and investigations were carried out, as well as the collection of statements from the various witnesses, by the judicial police team of the Guardia Civil. They will be tried by the court of Conil de la Frontera.
