Moroccan Singer Saïda Fikri Cancels Agadir Concert Due to Low Turnout

Saïda Fikri saw her concert in Agadir canceled on Saturday evening. The Moroccan singer, who was touring the country with dates in Marrakech, Casablanca and Tangier, was supposed to perform on the open-air stage in the capital of Souss.
The cancellation occurred following the artist’s refusal to take the stage. The reason: a low turnout, likely due to the football match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The organizers had to apologize to the few spectators present.
This incident recalls the difficulties encountered by Saïda Fikri in Morocco in 2017. She had then confided in a program that 15 of her concerts had been canceled that year. Residing in the United States for over seventeen years, she attributed this situation to "pressure exerted by entities responsible for cultural and artistic affairs in Morocco."
