Moroccan Singer Dounia Batma’s Prison Sentence Upheld in "Hamza Mon bb" Case

The justice system has just handed down its verdict in the so-called "Hamza Mon bb" case, and this decision could send singer Dounia Batma to prison.
The Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation in Rabat has rejected the artist’s request to annul the one-year prison sentence related to the "Hamza Mon bb" case. This decision confirmed the verdict handed down by the Court of Appeal of Marrakech, which had previously aggravated the initial sentence of the singer, from eight months to one year of detention.
The case also involved Ibtissam Batma, Dounia’s sister, implicated in the same file for serious computer offenses. The charges include unlawful access and deliberate disruption of an automated data processing system, as well as the unauthorized dissemination of personal and defamatory information through digital platforms.
