Moroccan Singer Dounia Batma to Face Trial in Marrakech for Alleged Hacking and Privacy Violations

The first hearing of the trial of singer Dounia Batma will take place on Thursday, May 15, before the criminal chamber of the court of first instance in Marrakech.
The 29-year-old star, prosecuted on provisional release for her alleged involvement in the Hamza mon bb case, will have to answer to the charges of hacking the computer data processing system and disseminating false statements and images of others without their consent.
To recall, the king’s prosecutor appealed the dismissal, pronounced on May 4 by the judge in favor of the Arab Idol star, relating to the offense of fraud. As a result, Dounia Batma, who was released after paying a bail of 500,000 dirhams, without being able to leave the national territory, will have to know on Thursday the full charges she will have to face.
Meanwhile, Ibtissam, Dounia’s sister, the stylist Aïcha Ayach, extradited by the United Arab Emirates on February 25, and Sophia Chakiri, a 37-year-old company manager in Rabat, are being prosecuted in pre-trial detention for the five charges.
