Moroccan Singer Dounia Batma’s Appeal Trial Postponed, Judge Allows Legal Representation

Singer Dounia Batma, accompanied by her lawyer, joined the courtroom of the Marrakech Court of Appeal on Wednesday where her appeal trial is taking place. The star was granted a small favor by the judge.
According to the latest information relayed by Kech24, the judge decided to postpone the hearing to October 21st. In addition, Dounia Batma will have the free choice to be represented by her lawyer. A favor that the judge granted her due to the imminence of her childbirth.
Prosecuted for defamation and blackmail offenses in the Hamza mon bb case, Dounia Batma and her sister were sentenced last July to prison sentences of 8 months and 1 year, accompanied by a fine of 10,000 dirhams each.
It should be recalled that the Arab Idol star had announced on Monday the death of her uncle, Hassan, the brother of her late uncle Larbi Batma. The man was suffering from a serious illness.
