Moroccan TV Series "Bnat El Assas" Gains Arab Audience with Syrian Dubbing on Emirati Channel

"In the first stage, it is difficult to promote a Moroccan product in darija," stressed the screenwriter, before specifying: "the current stage is to familiarize the Arab public with Moroccan writing, directing and production, before starting to promote Moroccan dramatic works with authentic dialogues without dubbing".

This "experience was important in its first phase to promote Moroccan dramatic works in terms of subjects, actors, technicians, directors and screenwriters," said Idriss Roukh, the director of "Bnat El Assas". His ambition, he added, is to present other works in darija. "This will only be achieved by working more on high-quality television productions," he is convinced.

"Bnat El Assas" follows three sisters forced to flee to the city of Casablanca after finding themselves in difficulty on the street due to their father’s drug addiction and bankruptcy. In 2021, the series captured the attention of more than 7.2 million viewers during the first seven days of Ramadan.
