Moroccan Sensation Ait El Hadj Stuns PSV in Champions League Thriller

The Moroccan striker of Union Saint-Gilloise Anouar Ait El Hadj was named man of the match against PSV Eindhoven this Tuesday (3-1) in the UEFA Champions League. The 23-year-old player scored the second goal of the match, the first of his career in this tournament.
Anouar Ait El Hadj received his trophy for best player of the match under the applause of his teammates. The Unionists, Belgian champions, corrected PSV by 3 goals to 1. "We had a lot of confidence in everyone. After ten minutes, there was already a lot of serenity when we saw that we were winning the duels and that we were calm on the ball. We really had nothing to lose, we had told ourselves that we wanted to have fun and give our all," said the 23-year-old player who is one of the architects of this victory.
The Moroccan scored his first goal in the Champions League this Tuesday. It was in the 39th minute of play, while Union Saint-Gilloise was leading the score (1-0). "I saw that there was space and I projected myself forward. There was still a defender that I managed to pass and then I shot flat knowing that the goalkeeper was tall. I did everything right while still having a bit of luck... I didn’t really think about it and it paid off," he comments.
Ait El Hadj is proud of this achievement. "It’s the best moment of my career. I thought of all the suffering at Union, Genk and Anderlecht. All the work pays off, it shows that you have to be patient and work in life. This goal means a lot to me, it’s great to shine in the biggest competition in the world. It shows that I have the level, I just have to keep this momentum going."
