Moroccan Schools Excel in French Math and Physics Rankings, Outperforming Top Parisian Institutions

Two Moroccan high schools are in the top 10 of the best Maths Spé prep classes in France in 2023. This is the result of the ranking of a specialized magazine.

The Al Zahrawi high school (Morocco) ranks 4th in the 2023 ranking of the 10 best scientific preparatory classes specialized in mathematics and physics, established by the magazine L’Etudiant, a reference in the French student press. Sainte-Geneviève (Versailles) tops the ranking. It is followed by Stanislas (Paris) and Blaise Pascal (Orsay). The prestigious Louis Le Grand (Paris) occupies the 5th position followed by Hoche (Versailles). Another Moroccan high school, Lydex de Benguerir, whose 24 students successfully passed the Polytechnique entrance exams in Paris this year, is ranked 8th.

Other Moroccan high schools are also featured in the 2023 ranking of the 134 best Maths Spé prep classes in France in 2023. These are:

• Omar Ibn Al Khattab de Meknès (75th)
• Al Qalam d’Agadir (78th)
• Mohammed V de Casablanca (79th)
• Ibn Al Ghazi de Rabat (89th)
• Carnot Prépas de Meknès (92nd)
• Omar Ibn Abdelaziz d’Oujda (95th)
• Ibn Timiya de Marrakech (103rd)

• Ibn Abdoun de Khouribga (131st)
• Estem de Casablanca (134th)
• Lycée Moulay Hassan de Tanger (134th).

To establish its ranking, the magazine L’Etudiant relied on the analysis of data concerning integration. "The more a prep school integrates students into the best graduate schools, the higher it ranks," it is explained.
