Moroccan Runner Rababe Arafi Advances to 1500m Final at World Athletics Championships

After the 800m final, the 28-year-old Moroccan athlete Rababe Arafi, for the second consecutive week, has qualified for the 1500m final, to be held this Saturday, October 5, as part of the World Athletics Championships taking place from September 27 to October 6 in Doha.
With a time of 2:00.48 set on September 30, Moroccan Rababe Arafi hopes to better defend this new 1500m challenge. She clocked 4:14.94 on Thursday, October 3, behind American Shelby Houlihan, 2nd (4:14.91), and Dutch Sifan Hassan who took 1st place (4:14.69), reports the MAP.
In September 2018, Rababe Arafi recorded the 3rd best female performance in the history of Morocco’s participation in the Intercontinental Athletics Cup (formerly World Cup), in the Czech city of Ostrava. At the time, she stood out with a time of 4:17.19 in the 1,500m, thus making her entry into the list of the most promising athletes on the continent, the same media reports.
