Moroccan Runner Halima Hachlaf Suspended 6 Years for Doping Violation

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has suspended Moroccan athlete Halima Hachlaf, 33, for the next six years. The Moroccan 800m specialist had tested positive for synthetic steroids at a competition in Rabat in January, while she had not received medical authorization for their use.
Halima Hachlaf is suspended until 2027 for a second anti-doping rule violation, reports Sportstar. She tested positive for synthetic steroids at a competition in Rabat last January, while she did not have a medical authorization for their use. The AIU justifies the sanction by the fact that the Moroccan 800m specialist did not cooperate in the investigation after the positive control.
The Moroccan athlete can however appeal her sanction to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). But if this sanction is maintained, the 33-year-old athlete would be forced to retire from the tracks.
In the past, Halima Hachlaf had been suspended for 4 years for suspected blood doping. She had been eliminated in the 800m semi-finals, after being allowed to participate in the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The Moroccan 800m specialist had won two races on the Diamond League circuit before representing Morocco at the 2012 London Olympics, where she was eliminated in the semi-finals.
