A Moroccan on the run since 2012 arrested in Spain

A 38-year-old Moroccan, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Moroccan authorities for a homicide committed in 2012 and for which he could face a life sentence, was arrested in the city of Cox (Alicante) by agents of the Spanish National Police.
The Moroccan authorities, through the Interpol Spain Office, requested the collaboration of the Spanish authorities to arrest this Moroccan national, who was found guilty of a murder committed in 2012 and for which he could face a life sentence, reports El Periodic.com.
After investigations, the agents of the provincial police station of Alicante managed to locate the Moroccan who had taken refuge in the city of Cox in Alicante to escape the justice of his country. An operation was then carried out to proceed with his arrest.
The accused is accused of a murder committed in 2012 in Nador. With two other people, he would have killed a minor who would have tried to steal a goat, causing his death. The two others involved have admitted the facts, accusing the fugitive of being the one who had thrown the stone that caused the victim’s death.
The Moroccan has been made available to the competent judicial authorities, pending his extradition to Morocco.
