Moroccan Royal Renounces Title, Requests Removal from Line of Succession

Call him Moulay Hicham El Alaoui and not Prince Moulay Hicham El Alaoui. This is what he just declared in an interview with the France 24 channel.
The "red prince" said he sent a letter to King Mohammed VI three years ago making two requests. "Three years ago, I made two requests to the king. The first, if something happened to me, I wanted to be buried in a place that has nothing to do with the Moroccan monarchy. I asked His Majesty to be relieved of my title of prince," said Moulay Hicham, stating that he no longer "belongs to the monarchy or is fourth in the line of succession."
"We wrote to him, my lawyer and I, so that my new name, Hicham El Alaoui, be registered in my civil status."
