Moroccan Rights Group Challenges Health Pass Mandate in Supreme Court

The Court of Cassation has been seized by a complaint from the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (AMDH) to revoke the decision to impose the health pass in public spaces.
According to the president of the AMDH, Aziz Ghali, "this measure violates Article 59 of the Constitution, which stipulates that even when a state of emergency is declared, the fundamental freedoms and rights of citizens must not be violated."
The AMDH stated that it receives hundreds of requests from Moroccan citizens against this measure every day. This led it to ask its lawyers to prepare a complaint based on the decree-law on the state of emergency and the Moroccan Constitution, "which has simply been violated by the government’s communiqué." The measure to impose the health pass is "liberticide on several levels," it added.
Furthermore, the AMDH denounced the silence of the Ministry of Health "which does not budge and continues to defend this measure even though it has led to several demonstrations across the country. Ghali criticized in this sense the lack of debate and the attitude of the Minister of Health, who "knows nothing about political communication."
