Moroccan AI Researcher Nominated for Global Women in Tech Award

The young Moroccan researcher-professor Hajar Mousannif is in the running for the prestigious "Women Tech" award, in the "Global AI Inclusion Award" category. This award celebrates women who stand out in high technology internationally.

Hajar Mousannif holds a State Engineering degree in 2005 from the National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (INPT) and a Doctorate in Computer Science obtained from the Cadi Ayyad University. Her research work focuses on wireless sensor networks and vehicle networks.

Her numerous research works in recent years on artificial intelligence and on several projects are at the origin of this award. "It is a great joy for me and for my country to be nominated for this prestigious award," she said to the MAP. According to her, her research work has taken into account AI, machine learning, Big Data, IoT, human-machine interaction and next-generation technologies.

Today, she is in 7th place thanks to the provisional results of the social media votes. She believes she can reach the top 3 in all categories at the end of the voting.

A university professor at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia of the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech, her courses focus on machine learning and big data analysis. She has numerous patents in artificial intelligence to her credit. She is also the laureate of several prizes including the Oréal-[UNESCO] and the Emeraude Litterati Excellence Award.
