Moroccan Real Estate Firms Rise in Forbes MENA Ranking Despite Sector Challenges

Two Moroccan real estate groups have managed to climb into the latest Forbes ranking of the best operators in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, thus proving the dynamism of the sector in the kingdom.
These are the Moroccan real estate groups Douja Promotion Groupe Addoha and Al Omrane, which occupy the 27th and 30th places respectively in this latest ranking dedicated to real estate development.
Over the past two years, the sector has been heavily impacted by the crisis, Forbes reports, noting that the situation has caused significant disruptions in the real estate sector in most countries. Owners and tenants had to make the necessary adjustments to business operations in response to capacity and mobility restrictions.
For this assessment, Forbes took into account six main indicators: financial data (total assets, market value and revenues), the value of completed projects, the value of projects under construction, the number of employees, the age of the company and the reputation of the developer in terms of delivering properties to buyers.
In the top 50, the agency placed the United Arab Emirates with 17 real estate development companies, four of which are in the top five. Saudi Arabia places 11 groups, followed by Egypt (7), Kuwait (6), Qatar (3), Morocco (2), Oman (2), Bahrain (1) and Jordan (1).
