Moroccan Rapper Lartiste Confronts Past Assault in New Song "Vaï et Reviens"

On March 14, 2018, Moroccan rapper Lartiste was violently assaulted in front of his building as he was returning from a radio show. Today, he addresses this episode of his professional career through a song from his new album.
Whose real name is Youssef Akdim, Lartiste is a Moroccan rapper who has experienced some setbacks that he has taken time to digest. "How to get rid of the pain of humiliation and hatred generated by a lynching? I chose to exorcise it by sharing with you a work rather than letting myself be crushed by anger and the desire for revenge. Even my worst enemy, I cannot wish him harm," he confides.
It was a painful, shocking experience for the man who settled with his family in Morocco a few days after the incident. Today he is trying to piece things back together and is resolutely determined to leave this difficult period of his life behind him. "Vaï et Reviens" is therefore for the singer a way to definitively turn the page. The rapper, with this new song, is establishing himself in the Top Singles chart, maintaining third place for five weeks, reports atlasinfo.fr.
After recharging and rebuilding in Morocco, Lartiste returned to France and is active for the release in October of his new album. He has also been enlisted for the Moroccan superhero film, "Atoman, Wind Rider," directed by the Belgian-Moroccan Anouar Moatassim, which marks a first in Maghreb and African cinema. A film focused on the health crisis of Covid-19, specifies the same source.
