Moroccan Rabbi Praises King Mohammed VI’s Leadership in COVID-19 Response

Rabbi Jacky Sebag of the Nev Shalom synagogue in Casablanca, now cured of Covid-19, congratulated King Mohammed VI for his pioneering role in the health crisis. He also thanked Professor Jaâfar Heikel and his team.
"There is no word in the French language that could express my feelings of thanks, gratitude and appreciation to you and to the medical staff. Bravo to you, to Professor Zahraoui and to the entire medical team that I only saw one night; but my brother and my children tell me how you took care of them," says Rabbi Jacky Sebbag, in a message sent to the community activist Ahmed Ghayat, for broadcast during a video conference earlier this week.
In addition to his own case, five members of his family were affected by Covid-19. Among them, his brother and his two children. Their hospitalization continues at the private Vinci clinic, made available to the state by Professor Jaâfar Heikel.
Speaking about the management of the coronavirus in Morocco, Rabbi Jacky Sebbag praised the pioneering spirit of King Mohammed VI. According to him, the sovereign has put the kingdom at the forefront of the international scene to the point of being taken as an example by many political figures around the world.
"Some foreign journalists praise the foresight of His Majesty and the progress that has been made by Morocco as well as the measures that have been taken to partially eradicate this virus," he said.
