Moroccan Port City Tangier Seeks Inspiration from French Counterpart Lorient

A delegation from the city of Tangier is currently in Lorient, in the department of Morbihan (western France), to identify avenues for cooperation between the two cities.
According to the newspaper Le Télégramme, Lorient has been hosting since Wednesday a delegation from the city of the Strait led by Mohamed Ouanaya and Jihan Elkhattabi, respectively president of the port of Tangier city and vice-president of the council of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region.
The main objective of this trip is "to identify a few paths" to allow the city of Tangier to "open up even more to the world and develop".
It is a question, according to the Moroccan officials, of finding possibilities of cooperation in the fields of boating and yachting.
To recall, in 2018, King Mohammed VI had inaugurated the new marina of the city of Tangier. With a budget of 635 million dirhams, this port is equipped "with significant infrastructure dedicated to welcoming boaters wishing to discover the charm of the capital of the Strait", it was indicated.
