Moroccan Pop Star Salma Rachid Faces Backlash Over Controversial Remarks

Salma Rachid is the target of attacks on social networks. Many Internet users criticize the arrogance of the Moroccan pop singer.
"If I don’t release a song for 4 years, I’ll still be present, while there are artists who, if they don’t release a song for a year, will be completely forgotten," Salma Rachid said in a radio show. These remarks by the artist have provoked strong reactions on social networks. According to some, the arrogance of the interpreter of "Ma Gazelle" could bring her back to square one.
The Moroccan pop singer is invited to cultivate humility. Many Internet users have urged her to chart her path away from arrogance and vanity. Others have also invited Salma to take inspiration from modest Moroccan artists such as Samira Said, Asmaa Lamnawar or Naïma Samih.
Salma was born in June 1994 in Casablanca. She is passionate about music, drawing and fashion. In 2012, she obtained her baccalaureate and began economics studies. Her participation in the second season of Arab Idol broadcast on MBC was crowned with success. Finalist of the show, she became popular in the Arab world. The power of her voice, her ability to master different styles and her charisma fascinate.
