Moroccan Pop Star Questioned in Hospital Assault Investigation

Moroccan singer Oumaima Baazia was heard by the Fez police on Sunday morning as part of an investigation for assault.
According to several Arabic-speaking sources, a security guard at the Hassan II University Hospital was seriously injured during an altercation that occurred late at night.
The victim, who had to be admitted to the intensive care unit of the same establishment, would have been struck on the head and leg. The incident reportedly took place in the emergency department, where a group of people, including the singer’s husband and members of the troupe, would have had a dispute with the medical staff.
When the security guard tried to prevent this group from leaving the premises, he would have been violently assaulted. The incident caused a strong commotion within the hospital and led to the opening of an investigation.
The authorities are currently trying to determine the exact circumstances of this case and to identify all those responsible.
