Moroccan Police Deploy Biometric ID System to Catch Suspects in Ouarzazate

The security services in Ouarzazate have used, for the first time, a biometric identification device to identify people wanted by the justice system.
To counter document fraud, identity theft, terrorism and cybercrime, the security services in Ouarzazate have decided to use biometric identification devices, especially during the year-end holiday period. These latest generation devices make it easy to identify suspects thanks to their unique biological characteristics.
According to Hespress, the "biometric identification device" was used for the first time in Ouarzazate, in order to identify people, especially those who do not have a national identity card, from their fingerprints or a photo of their face to know if this person is wanted by the justice system.
The same source specifies that police stations in Morocco will soon be equipped with these devices.
