According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the Meknes police arrested, on Thursday, June 20, 2019, the two individuals, for endangering the safety of rail traffic. But the security forces issued a second surprising reason: endangering the safety of train passengers.
In any case, an investigation was initiated after the wave of emotion resulting from the publication of this video on social networks. It shows the young man, with a backpack on his back, remaining on the tracks until the last moment and the train, approaching at full speed, avoiding him, at the last moment. A tragic accident could have happened very easily.
The investigation made it possible to identify the young man in the backpack and the one who filmed him. At their arrest, according to the DGSN press release, it turned out that they are respectively 20 and 27 years old. They were placed in custody and made available to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
