Moroccan Phosphate Giant OCP Expands into Eastern Europe with Romanian Venture

The Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) has just obtained the approval of the Head of Government for the creation of a company in Romania, in cooperation with an Emirati group. The OCP will take a 50% stake in the South East European Fertilizer Company (SEEFCO).
According to the terms of this decision, published in the Official Bulletin on January 16, this new company will allow the OCP to expand its activities in Romania, and to use this country as a hub to expand its hegemony in Central and Eastern Europe. This is a decision that has received the approval of the OCP Board of Directors since the end of 2018.
The South East European Fertilizer Company will start with a share capital of $5 million.
