The unpaid bank debts of Moroccans have been multiplied by 2.7, from 2013 to 2019, reaching more than 23 billion dirhams. Personal bank loans, on the other hand, have only increased by 44%.

Non-performing loans held by banks on individuals have increased from 8.8 billion dirhams to 23.6 billion between February 2013 and November 2019, an increase of 168% in less than seven years, reports Médias24.

As for the outstanding loans of this clientele, it has only increased by 44%, from 210 to 303 billion dirhams over the same period. This implies that the rate of unpaid bank debts of individuals has almost doubled, reaching 7.8% compared to 4.2% at the beginning of 2013.

Regarding the financial debt of households, it amounts to nearly 363 billion dirhams. This data, it is indicated, takes into account the debt of individuals with specialized finance companies (60 billion also including a high level of arrears).
